"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by the gradual and silent encroachment of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpation."

President James Madison, 1788

World Views Year III: The Revolutionary Age compares and contrasts the foundations and outcomes of four major revolutions: the English, American, French, and Russian Revolutions.   Following the Reformation, the backdrop to the English and American Revolutions, the Enlightenment rejected Revelation in deference to Man's Reason:  man was now set free from God to determine his own destiny.  This movement would set the stage not only for the French and Russian Revolutions, but for the 20th Century as well. Year III provides a total of 5 and 3/4 course credits.
Again, this is a rigorous high school CORE curriculum - it is not intended to be added onto a large load of additional curriculum.  At most students only need appropriate math, science and/or foreign language classes along with World Views.  Most weeks, an average student should expect to spend at least 3-4 hours PER DAY, 5 days per week (in addition to class time) to prepare adequately for this class.
Prerequisite:  World Views Years I and II or approval by Mrs. Moellendorf.
This course is ideal for 11th grade students, although may be beneficial for other students at the discretion of the teacher and parent.
